Not every watch needs the same attention. We offer three clearly defined services — from a modest battery and clean to a full, patient programme for complicated or cherished pieces.

How a watch moves through our studio
Every watch that arrives at Rattikala follows the same path at the start: we examine it carefully, note its condition in writing, and talk through what we find before anything is agreed. The service level you choose shapes what happens after that — but the intake process is always the same.
Parts used during a service are appropriate to the movement type and manufacturer's specifications where these are available. Lubricants, seals, and consumables are sourced from reputable suppliers. We do not substitute materials to reduce time or cost without telling you.
Intake and Assessment
The watch is inspected, its condition recorded, and a service recommendation is made. You receive a written note and a clear price before anything proceeds.
Service Work
Work is carried out according to the agreed programme. If something unexpected arises, you are contacted before we continue.
Bench Observation
After reassembly, the watch runs on the bench. We observe its rate over time using a timing machine before clearing it for return.
Final Check and Return
A final check confirms the watch is performing as expected. For water-resistant models, pressure testing completes the process before collection.

Simple Service

Standard Overhaul

A balanced overhaul for mechanical watches worn often and ready for renewal. The service covers cleaning, lubrication, timing regulation, seal renewal, and a settling period on the bench. Suited to reliable daily watches that have drifted a little over the years. We keep you informed throughout and return the piece once it holds its rhythm steadily.

Complete Care Programme

A thorough, patient programme for cherished or complicated timepieces. Work includes full disassembly, detailed cleaning, careful part renewal where needed, water-resistance checking, and extended observation. Recommended for heirloom watches and long-neglected pieces you hope to keep for a lifetime. Each decision is discussed with you, and the watch returns only when it runs calmly and well.

Across All Services
Standards that apply to every piece we handle
Written Record at Intake
Every watch enters the studio with a written condition note. This stays with the piece and is returned to you at collection.
Contact Before Any Change
If work deviates from what was agreed — any additional finding or part — you hear from us before we proceed.
Secure Individual Storage
Each watch is stored separately in a labelled protective pouch when not on the bench. Pieces are never left mixed together.
Correct Lubricants Only
Oils and greases are selected by movement type and component. We do not use generic substitutes where specific lubricants are required.
Timing Machine Verification
Rate accuracy is confirmed with an electronic timing machine after any overhaul or adjustment. Visual inspection alone is not sufficient.
Returned Only When Ready
A watch is not cleared for collection if something still concerns us. We would rather take a few more days on the bench than return a piece that is not running well.

Service programme fees
All prices include intake assessment, the service work, and return of the watch with a written report. Parts sourcing, if required under the Complete Care programme, is quoted and discussed separately.
